We met at school and quickly became close friends before our relationship naturally grew into something more. We spent years getting to know each other, sharing the same friendship groups, sense of humour and outlook on life. Looking back, it almost feels inevitable that we would end up together one day — our story has always felt very natural and meant to be.

We had previously attended a couple of weddings at Peak Edge Hotel, so we already knew just how stunning the setting was and how well the days seemed to flow for the couples getting married there. It always stood out to us as a venue that felt special without being overwhelming.

It gave us a lot of confidence that Peak Edge wasn’t just beautiful, but also somewhere that delivered an amazing experience for couples and their guests.

Honestly, from the moment we walked through the doors. Peak Edge was the very first venue we viewed, and although we visited others afterwards, nothing else compared.

The warm welcome from the staff immediately made us feel at ease, and everything just felt right. When we stepped into the Oak Room and saw the views beyond the windows, we both looked at each other and knew we had found our venue. From that point on, we were mentally picturing our entire day there.

We really wanted the day to feel relaxed, fun and personal, with lots of little touches that reflected us as a couple. We had a dedicated table for our card box, audio guestbook, written guestbook and ‘His & Hers’ sweets, which became a popular spot for guests throughout the day to stop, chat and leave messages for us. Listening back to those recordings afterwards has been one of our favourite memories.

In the evening, we hired a personalised selfie mirror and photobooth, which went down a treat and kept guests entertained all night. During the drinks reception, we had a magician performing for guests, which created such a great atmosphere and gave people something fun and different to enjoy while we had photos taken.

One of our favourite personal touches was creating a handwritten message and picture for every single guest, which we placed on their tables for the wedding breakfast. It took a lot of time to prepare, but it was so worth it to make everyone feel individually appreciated and part of our day.

The moment Olivia walked down the aisle is something we will both remember for the rest of our lives. It was incredibly emotional, and seeing all our friends and family there with the beautiful backdrop behind us made it feel surreal.

We also loved heading outside later in the day and playing cricket on the lawn, which so many of our guests got involved in. It was such a fun, relaxed moment that really reflected our personalities and brought everyone together.

Finally, when our first dance finished and our ‘second song’ came on, seeing the dance floor instantly fill with our favourite people celebrating with us was an unforgettable feeling and the perfect way to end the day.
