- Tell us a little about how you both met
-
We met through mutual friends on a night out in Derby.
- What first attracted you to Peak Edge Hotel?
-
The décor, setting and food were what first attracted us to Peak Edge. We loved the traditional style with a modern twist, the beautiful orangery roof was a huge tick for us, bringing so much natural light in. The venue felt very ‘us’ and we knew from the moment we walked in.
- Describe your wedding day in 3 words
-
Calm, beautiful & fabulous
- What were the most important elements to you when planning your wedding day?
-
Our guests were our priority. We wanted them to be well fed and have a drink in hand all day. We also wanted the day to go as smoothly as possible with no stress, and having the best suppliers, along with Peak Edge, made that happen.
- What was your favourite dish at the reception and why?
-
My favourite was the Burrata Tomato Salad Starter, absolutely delicious! Matts favourite was the Beef BonBon Starter. We also LOVED the outdoor pizza oven which fired up in the evening, another reason why we chose Peak Edge!
- Did you have any specific moments during your reception that you particularly enjoyed?
-
Apart from all of it 🤣
We were extremely lucky with the weather for October. Our hope was that the weather would be good enough to have our reception drinks on the terrace outside, and the weather exceeded our expectations. The sun was shining and our saxophonist and singer provided the perfect atmosphere, plus the canapés were delicious.
- What tips/advice would you give to our future couples?
-
Take in every moment, try to stay calm and don’t worry about the things you can’t control.
Also, our photographers & videographers were worth their weight in gold.
The day flew by, but they managed to catch every special moment. I’m so glad we’ve got all those memories to look back on. Trust your suppliers, they’re the experts!
